No water. What happened?

Earlier today all was fine. Sitting in parking lot at NIRVC Vegas in 90+ degree heat for oil and all filters changing tomorrow. Have half a tank of water on board. Went to use the sink and nothing. Did my pump just get hot and stop running or ??? Do pumps just go out with no warning? I've not hooked up to shore water in years and only use my onboard water.

So, can you hear the pump running?

Normal RPM or high RPM?

Sorry, wife made me take her to dinner. I'll be back at the coach in about an hour.

Had my pump stop mid-shower while DW was using it. Turned 12v off and on and all was fine.

Later...

Ok, back at the coach. 12v reset, no joy. Turned on the sprayer in the wet bay with pump on and no noise. Where is the fuse?

On my Aspire there is an inline fuse on the red 12V power line right at the motor. I believe there may be a relay involved but not sure about that.

On my 14 the fuse was in the bathroom fuse panel, it was marked monitor. It was wired to the same circuit as the tank monitors.

The macerator has a relay, perhaps the pump does also? These pumps are less than reliable IMO. My 18 Anthem's pump kicked the bucket within 2.5 years and my Cornerstone's lasted 6 months.

And yes, they can die without warning. You have several other good suggestions, also.

Interesting that you don't use city water... You could save yourself several thousand cycles of the pump, and you might not be in the situation that you are in, if you did....

Thanks all for the suggestions. I've turned the issue over to the fine folks at NIRVC. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Haven't used City Water since 2008----fresh water tank and pump exclusively
OEM Pump and still going strong today

RV water pump drive diaphragms only move back-forth 1/8"
No friction/can run dry

WHY pump only.....
Flooded RV due to cracked hot outlet fitting that came apart after we had gone to bed/sleeping
$6000 plus in costs/2 weeks of repairs and we were FT
Pump...flip the switch no water
Pump...consistent water pressure/flow no matter where we go
Pump..if it cycles W/O demand--heads up LEAK
Pump/Tank...weeks worth of water. No hassles

Try it ...you might like it and LESS chance of FLOOD

My other rv has had the same pump for 21 years with zero problems. Didn't know these new ones were so fragile. I've now read a number of reviews for Shurflo and people are complaing that they are crapping out in 6 months. Anyone have experience with USA Adventure? Found this on Amazon and it is double the price of Shurflo but that doesn't mean they are any better.
