Thanks Bill & Ken - I've tried that technique before, and as I said - it seems to have a mind of it's own... Sometimes it works well, other times the cover will close with the fan still running. Other times it does nothing at all... I also find I get the best luck, when holding the remote about 1' away from the fan - but still inconsistent
!
(But it's not the only fan I'm having fun with. The now 16-17 years old Fantastic Fan, has started to have the fan start on it's own. Most of the time it's in moist or humid conditions when this happens. And does not do so consistently. Fantastic Fans Tech Support is not quite what it used to be, but they were pretty sure it had to do with rain sensor board. When we're done with this years travels, I'll move the one from the other Fantastic Fan I removed to put in the Maxxfan. Still in a box in my garage. Only removed it, because we have a solar panel close by, and if I had put on the roof top cover for the Fantastic Fan, it would always be up and have a chance of shading the panel from time to time. With the Maxxfan, with the cover in the down position, it lessons the frequency of shading the panel. And, I also like the reverse fan feature, for pulling in cool air at night.)
Best to you all,
Smitty
