% off MSRP

Toying with the idea of selling our 2017 Aspire 44B and purchasing a new Aspire 44B. Been out of the new sales market for some time so what % of MSRP range should we expect to get? Live in AZ but willing to drive anywhere to get the best price.

Tom, Call Angie at NIRVC, 214-392-1100. You can take delivery at Surprise AZ. Best delivery service of any dealer I have ever dealt with. Saving $500. on purchase price from a discount dealer only to have to make a trip to Middlebury to get everything taken care of, is just not worth it. Been there, done that.

After personal experience with my ‘17 Aspire at
Surprise, I would drive to Atlanta for delivery in a heartbeat. I degress. Again what are typical % off discount?

This is a subject that may vary from dealer to dealer. Also, anyone in the know will not discuss this on a public forum. As suggested above, give Angie a call at NIRVC and she will tell you exactly what they can do for you. Any other advice off here is just opinion and speculation.

The info I have received from avid shoppers and a few agents is when a model hits the showroom floor...unless special is some where's between 15-20% below MSRP.

After a month...maybe drops another 10% or so. Depending on how that model is selling it creeps down a few percent over the next 6 months and then a decision is made to hold or clearance sale on best offers.

Loose numbers, depends on economy, depends on dealers, depends on models and RV types....... the numbers I suggested were for Class C's during the beginning of the pandemic before inventory dropped. But my connections still lean into the same numbers.

For awhile...models in demand were listing at or above MSRP.

Old retired Jayco dealer friend said he made fair amount of money giving 27% off MSRP. You may note that end of model year sales come very close to that figure. Finding an honest quote on MSRP is hard on some models and dealers.

Not sure why people are hesitant to discuss what they were able to negotiate. For Entegras I always heard 32% to 35% off MSRP. Newmar was less than that. For me, I was able to get about 46% off, but my coach was a lot queen that I purchased on the last day of the year (2017 purchased on 12/31/17). So it's been several years, so the economics have probably changed. Maybe some folks will come on here with more recent experience and tell you their deals. Putting this out in the open helps us all.

It causes hard feelings and puts the dealer in the middle. If I bragged that I got xx% but Gary only got xx% ordering at the same time, he is not going to be very happy. Then he calls our dealer and ask why I got a better deal? What does the dealer say not to have unhappy customers?

There are lots of factors that dictate what a dealer is willing to do. But 30% off MSRP is doable. Also, the closer the dealer is to the manufacturer will provide the best savings on transportation costs, which the dealer marks up.
