Operating on 15 amps

Some observations while operating on 15 amps in my daughter's driveway.

1. While using the Progressive EMS, we needed to find a non-GFI protected circuit. I confirmed this with Progressive when we kept tripping the GFI when the EMS kicked in. It is acting as it should.

2. I dialed the shore powers back to 5 amps initially, but experimented and found that 10 amps worked fine as there is nothing else on this circuit.

3. We turned off the electric element in the Aquahot.

4. We used the Aquahot in diesel mode and heat in gas mode and kept nice and warm.

5. DW needed to use the microwave once. I started the generator for that, not wanting to take a chance on tripping the circuit in daughter's house.

I have seen many questions regarding storage on 15 amps. Perhaps my observations here will help answer those questions. The batteries stayed at the float charge level the whole week. I did start with a full charge from the generator. Operations fairly close to normal.

Good write up Bill. I also found if I shut the inverter/chargers off while plugged into 15 amp, I can run one AC while working inside in the FL heat. I couldn't do that with the Travel Supreme.

I also program my charger down to 10%. If you lose shorline power for many hours and it comes back on the charger just might draw enough to pop the shoreline breaker.
