outside freezer not freezing

My outside freezer is not cooling properly. Initially, I set it for ~36 degrees just to keep water cool. After a spell I observed that it wasn't cooling very well, so I set the thermostat at 27. It's still not cooling well and nothing is freezing.

Any ideas?

Unplug it to reset it. Check that both plugs are seated, mine come looses all the time from sliding the freeze out. Dometic CS and warranty are very good.....nothing like Norcold was.

Remember I have a Classic, so anything I post is related to a Classic. The Classic outside refrigerator have 2 plugs, one 12v one 110v. Being there is no inverter power in the basement on the newer model, I thought the newer models would have 12v plugs as well as 110v

No 12v in ours. We assumed that there was now inverter power to that plug. Hmmmm...something else to check.

My 2017 has both as well, but the basement plug only works off shore. I moved mine at the breaker box to the inverted side to fix this. Wouldn't surprise me if yours is shore only as well.

John, did you move the entire basement breaker over the the inverter side? I looked on the 19's and there is room on the inverter panel and planned on doing the same thing on the 19. Crazy not to have inverter power in the basement.

All plugged in, but I don’t think the a/c outlet is hot.

Probably because it is not on the inverter. Plug into shore power and see if it's hot.

That and other reasons I am going to move the basement circuit breaker to the inverter panel. I am constantly puling my MH out into the open to work on something requiring the basement doors to be open. What a pain to have to run the generator each time...much easier to move the circuit breaker once. Another reason, driving across the NV desert with to power to the basement freezer without the generator running...why?

Doesn't the 12 volt plug keep it going when not getting 110 volt?

hdgoldie posted her 19 does not have a 12v plug. Will all models be that way? Don't know yet.

The OP also questioned 2 plugs, in post #3, maybe he does not have a 12v plug either, it would be nice to find out if the later newer models have 12v. If not, inverter power will need to be considered.

The answer, at least on our 2017, is yes the 12 volt will run the unit when not on 120. Both of our basement units run just fine when we're on the road off 12 volt just as they do when we're plugged in at a park.
