Outside Steps not Working 2013 Aspire

So we started our trip yesterday with 2 items not working properly.

The outside steps are not working, they are in the closed position. I called Entegra but not real help. I went underneath and tested the red wire of the harness to find no volts. Also, the map lights on the Auto position does not turn on when opening the doors (I think this is related as Entegra had me check for this) Checked 5 amp fuse (slot 10) under drivers seat and looks good and I have continuity….. any one has run into this? We are leaving today Texarcana on our way to Lake Table Rock to the Ozarks RV Resort.

There should be another fuse in the compartment under the drivers seat which is 20A and is the power for the step motor. The 5A fuse you mentioned is for the control.

You are most welcome! I am very familiar with that fuse because I pulled it all the time with the steps in the retracted position to put a set of wooden steps in front of the entrance door at our seasonal site.

I have a similar problem on our 2016 Aspire 44B. Steps were working 3 weeks ago when the coach went to storage. Yesterday the steps will not come out. I checked bot the 5amp (Slot 10 upper box) and the 20amp (slot 10 lower box) and both are good. I have power to the step light and the double brass switch I believe is what turns the light on and off. My meter has a dead battery so I couldn’t check for voltage. Is there a magnetic switch on the door somewhere?

I had the same issue and assumed I needed to replace the motor. After painstakingly using a 10MM wrench to remove the motor (could not reach Pin to release and extend steps and had to drop motor while they were in) when I pulled out the motor and tested it everything worked!! Evidently the plug going into the motor was corroded (when I unplugged and plugged back in it worked) or was loose. I put everything back together and now two years later I still have my backup “new” motor.

Please be sure to remove any electrical when or if you work on it!!!
