Outside tv question
My outside tv will not work on cable. I start looking and notice there is not cable hooked to it. So I pull the stereo out so I can see all the wiring. I see a cable just laying way under the kitchen cabinets. I fish it out and hook it up thinking I just solved the puzzle. Nope, no signal from that cable. So now I start tracing the cable from the switch box above the fireplace. The outside tv and bedroom tv are both on the same switch. I go in the bedroom and notice a removable panel in the upper cabinet next to the tv. I open it and I find the cable coming from the front and it splits into two. One goes to the bedroom tv and I am assuming the other goes to the outside tv. Here is the problem. When it splits, the cable going somewhere other than the bedroom tv goes from black to orange. The cable to the outside tv is black. The orange cable must change to black somewhere and i bet that could be the problem.
Anyone have to deal with this that could share some wisdom? I plan on calling CS in the am.

All I can tell you is my outside TV is on the same satellite or cable as my living room TV.

The fireplace TV...by the way, the bulkhead is also tied to the fireplace TV. I think you can connect to the rear TV, but it is done somehow in that mess with the cabinet under the fireplace TV.

Mine too. I wonder why if isn't a separate tv circuit? I also need to ask Mike (dusty56) where he got the sound deadening materials. We all need that, I'm afraid, and is IMO a significant but very inexpensive convenience that a designer would discover if they actually lived in these coaches. There are MANY occasions that I'm outside and DW inside....and she'd much rather be watching a different program than I have on. Not only are they all on the same satellite circuit, the sound from the outside TV blasts in the salon. This is a MAJOR PITA!

After talking to CS and getting a wiring diagram I was able to find the missing cable. Took a while but all is good and the outside tv is working.

Where did it connect? While removing the extra tile in the basement yesterday I noticed an unconnected coax cable hanging down. The coax for my salon TV was also not connected and that was the main one from the satellite. I guess a few of the installers missed the "cable connection class."

The cable for the outside tv comes from the bedroom tv. It originates at the fireplace and splits at the bedroom. When it splits the outside cable goes to orange. I was able to locate the orange cable, It was coiled up under the dishwasher. All is good for now.

Kinda what I though...because I've had folks say they were connected to the rear TV, but everyone I know is really connected to the front. I think you can go either way with a splitter in the back...guess it depends on the lifestyle between you and DW as to how and where you share the signal.

Entegra has the outside tv getting the cable source from the bedroom tv. The satellite comes from the fireplace tv
