Paint/Fiberglass issue

With the paint colors Entegra offers, I notice most coaches have black paint in the color scheme. The darker colors heat up pretty good in the direct Arizona sun or any direct sun. This heat can expand the tiny air bubbles inherent to fiberglass causing cracks and splitting of the fiberglass and paint. Has anyone experienced this problem with your Entegra? Or does Entegra do something that this problem does not exist? Some research notes that this problem is not common with lighter colors.

I have not noticed any of the issues you are concerned about. Live in central Texas, where it gets hot also. The insulation does a good job. Easy to keep cool.

Spending summers in the Colorado Rockies helps though.

I don't know much about paint, but I can tell you, I've never seen a rv insulated this well. No mater how hot it gets, these Entegras can put frost in places that you don't want frost.

this issue has nothing to do with the insulation...its the fiberglass caps and outer skin.

I had some spider web cracks on the front cap in my '15. The '18 has some small ones by the sewer hose door. On the '15 they were fixed at the factory during PDI (or whatever its called now) and I assume the same will happen on our '18 next spring when we take it back to Middlebury. The issues do NOT appear to be related to bubbling under the paint.

We had spider cracks in our front and rear endcaps which Entegra said were manufacturing problems, and they fixed them. We love our darker colored coach.Click image for larger version

We ordered our 17 Cornerstone with the lighter color exterior only to have the color discontinued between order and delivery. We were told we have the last coach in this color. The lighter color really makes a great difference in cooling while in the intense Florida sun. For the life of me I cannot believe that I am the only person that wants a lighter color coach.

Ditto

I know Entegra likes those sexy swirling paint jobs, but I'd love to see some lighter color combinations. (Oh Entegra, look at some of the Newmars!)

I too would like to see Entegra offer lighter colors....seems the color offerings run together except for the graphics per model.

I live in the same desert sun as Arizona with same temps and my anthem has a lot of dark brown on it... never had the issue you are asking about..
It's a pretty quality paint job... I paint seal it twice a year and always use the car spotless water ... shines like a diamond.. even when it's 118 degrees

We have a lighter colored Aspire. Stayed in Outer Banks this summer, no hookups. After being gone all day with it sitting in 90-degree full sun, when we got home it was only 98 inside. Love the lightness! LOL Was sad to hear at factory that they aren't planning on any light schemes anytime soon.
