Parked (stored) - air up or down?

I had a valve replaced under warranty, and now my coach holds air like a champ. No more tilting to the left while I drive. It used to sag in the rear overnight, but now holds air for weeks. So... when stored, is it better to leave it aired up, or let the suspension down? The first way would appear to stress the suspension more, but the second way might cause damage over time due to folds in the bags. Or gremlins, I always get those mixed up. Anyway, what's the consensus?

On my 12 year old it does not matter, the air bleeds out after a few days anyhow.

One thing I do when storing is drive the tires on a sheet of plywood so they are not on the concrete floor in the garage.

My coach also tilts to the left when it is parked over a period of a week or so. What valve did you have to have replaced to get it to stop that slow leak?

I store my coach with the air up (not dumped). My drive is slightly tilted down toward the back, and so I put down the jacks with wood pads under the jacks to just level the back of the coach a little more. The front air suspension holds well over time, but the back driver side of the coach will lose air pressure and start to tilt without the jacks being down.

There will be two different schools on this one and even the people at Spartan don't agree as I have heard both sides from different Spartan reps.

I store with the jacks down. Less weight on the tires and suspension. At the end of storage season I spray the jack rams down with WD40 then wipe them down. This method has worked for me for 14 years with Equalizer jacks. Others will have different opinions.

Gary, that's exactly what I had - the front would hold air indefinitely, but the rear would sag. The shop had it for a day and stated that the master tag dump valve was leaking. It took about 2 weeks to get one from Spartan, and it was a warranty fix. I went through Entegra CS to start the whole thing going. Besides the leaking and listing, my coach pulls to the right and wanders. Entegra indicates that I can get an alignment under warranty, but I have not yet found a shop that can do it.

Similarly, I bought a ping tank from Spartan to install for my MG Engineering braking system, but the local Spartan shop won't install it because although the mechanics are willing, the boss is worried about liability issues and won't authorize anything in the brake system. He doesn't care if it's a Spartan part. Business is getting harder and harder to get done in CA.

Correction - it was the master dump valve, not the tag dump valve.

I agree with Chuck. After all, if we park and are living in the coach for a month or longer, the bags are deflated. I also will spray down the jack rams the day before we are pulling out if we have been sitting for a month.
