I’ve dealt with just about every vendor that has parts on our coach and have NOT been told to go thru the coach manufacturer. They have all sent me parts and have either requested that I send the old parts back or throw them out. Thetford didn’t want their parts back.....Wonder why...HAHA.

If you can’t troubleshoot and or fix your coach, then yes, you will be held hostage. But I’ve learned a lot over the last 25 or so years of motorhoming and decided I wasn’t going to be held hostage. And yes, there will be things that you can’t do and will need help. You just need to learn how to manage those situations. We have and all has worked out.

So if I’ve pissed you off at me...oh well, you’ll get over it, but I think you’ll be best served to stop whining and take matters into your on hands. You’ll be glad you did....

Well, that had to be said

Was going to wait a day or so to see how this worked out, but here’s a few things I did different that you may want to consider.

Thetford calls out for the use of Dap caulking. Lowes carries Dap Dynaflex 230 and Dynaflex ultra. I spent the extra money for the ultra. They also call for a 1/4” bead, I spread about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch bead. The seal around the bowel looks nicer, to me, with the extra caulk.

I also lubed all seals with silicone grease, all seals inside and out. This made putting everything back together a lot easier. I also found that by doing this that the blade seal appears to be moving much nicer and quieter all greased up.

Good luck with this project.....

Thanks again Paul. I imagine the toilet repair will be easier than installing new arms and alignment on rear engine hatch. I know the Rear diff and hub service is going to seem like a walk in the park after these two tasks!!!
