Pat's Famous Shelf Mod

We picked our 2018 Cornerstone up two weeks ago and love it. Drove to Dallas where we had left our stuff (Polite word). Among the material was our shelving from our 2017 - in fact from the 2013.

When I looked into the bays, I saw that there is now carpeted trim on a 45 degree angled board up against the frame. Looks nice but what is it?

Has anyone made Pat's mod to a 2018? I'll work on an idea or two but that is akin to asking our Yorkie to figure it out.

Pat posted the shelf mod for his 2017, will that work on the 2018?

There are a bunch of 120v junction boxs under that carpeted board.

In our 2017 cornerstone I rotated those boards Down to the horizontal position using pats method. Still works great and has an additional benefit of putting additional light into the basement. Thanks again Pat.

I can't find Pat's mod for his 2017. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Using Pats' method of shelf supports I drilled a new hole for the J bolt in the angle iron so the bottom of the shelf is even with the bottom of the frame. Therefore not losing storage height on the cargo trays.

I am not sure but I think that the 2018 Cornerstone may have added a bit of complexity to the process. It appears that the design is different from the 2017. I had actually installed them on our 2017.

I hope these two photos show the diagonal trim covered by carpet type material. The frame and the square tubing are behind it. (I guess) I also don't see a way to lower the trim.

I'm not very handy so I apologize to those of you who are.

Thanks in advance

Note: The second photo is actually one photo but the light bar makes it look like two!
