PDI in May
I am set up for my PDI to start in 19 May. I hope to go from Branson to Charlotte then back down to Middleberry.
Is anyone else from the forum planning to be in Middleberry that week?

We're going to Charlotte on the 7th and then plan to be in MB on the 12th. Then we go to Precision for some minor paint issues and a ceiling fan so we'll be in the area. Got to leave for a few days (Daughter graduating from Nursing School).
Hopefully we'll see you there.

We're going to the Branson HooRah May 8-12 and then have our PDI appointment starting May 27. Precision the week of June 9 and then Spartan starting May 16. If you're around any of those places those times look for us. We'll be in an Entegra.

It's official, we're going from Texas to Branson to Charlotte then Middleberry.
We arrive at Charlotte on my birthday, 14 May. Middleberry on the 19th then wander home.
I am thinking Charlotte/Middleberry via Indianapolis may be better than via Chicago. I really like Chicago but didn't even like riding the subway or a cab there, I can't imagine driving a coach there!

Coming from TX, you should only be on the South side of Chicago...everything I've heard, the interstate running through Indianapolis should be avoided. Indiana interstates tend to be very ROUGH rides!

I've done both. I even went through downtown Chicago on the way to Milwaukee. Not great but doable. It was even close to rush hour although to be fair - anytime in Chicago sucks.
I-80 sucks anytime you get on it and in every state it runs through east of the Mississippi - can't speak for the western side.
IN roads aren't great bt no worse than MI maybe not as bad. I was p$@*ed to stop for fuel and be hit with a price for diesel that was much higher than posted. It wasn't posted that it was a cash price and then since I wasn't commercial they tacked on Sales Tax which also wasn't posted. That's the only state where I have experienced this so IN is one place I won't buy fuel. Not sure if there are others. The attitude of the clerk toward MH'ers didn't help.

Oregon does it too! Posted or advertised price at truck stops seems OK, and then they tack on 22 cents/gallon. Beware
I found I465 around Indy to be pretty good to excellent when I traveled to Cincy in 2012 to pick up our rig.

I learned that one the hard way too. Since most of IN is farming the diesel prices are post for off road use. If it is a hwy vehicle, the tax is added. At least that was the way it was explained to me by the station attendant.
AZ is another one...fuel up on the trucker pumps pay 10 cent a gallon commercial tax. Fuel on the auto side no commercial tax. That one isn't posted either.

Chuck's right about AZ. Flying J/Pilots have an RV lane with better than posted prices.

Interesting. IN was the only one we'd seen. In IN the [ moderator edit ]clerk asked for our ICC number. When told we didn't have one the price changed AND sales tax was added. "The sign is only for commercial truckers" nothing about farming. I guess they use the slot machine method for answering questions.

We went the opposite direction in part of our October trip - from Middlebury to Charlotte, and went through Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Looking at my map in Streets & Trips, from Charlotte we were on I 77, I 64, US 35 from Charleston WV to I 71, I 74, I 69, US 33 and Indiana 13. We needed to go to Cincinatti to visit a friend of my wife's, so you could go north of there and pick up I 70 into Indianapolis.
