Photos of bedroom slide rollers needed
Thinking maybe someone may have construction photos from a factory tour available. Or, possibly during a repair when the slide was lifted.
I am specifically looking for the outboard rollers that are not accessible (not the ones under the foot of the bed) for a 44b but I think any EC bed slide would work.
Thanks.
Tom

It might help to have a brief description of what you are trying to find out. Are you having a problem of some sort? Somebody may have dealt with the same issue and can give you insight. Btw the only rollers that I know of on the 44B bedroom slide are the ones at the foot of the bed.

Hello DD et al;
Looking at the slide from the outside; the right side is sagging down about an 1/8”. I had EC adjust it last fall but it has returned.
It gets close enough to pinch the horizontal metal trim piece.
The left side is fine and I have a proper gap on the left, upper and right side(more or less). I did not watch EC when they made the adjustment, hence my request for a photo.
If photos existed, I would like to see what the roller is sitting on, and why it might be sagging.
I added a 12” x 12” x 1/8” steel plate to the underside of the slide which raises the slide up enough to clear the opening but it is not really the correct solution.
I will have to look for a photo with the slide closed and will post it if I can find it.
Hope that paints a better picture of what and why.
Thanks.
Tom

Tom,
I do not have a photo but those rollers you are referring to are different than all the rest of the rollers on the coach.
If your rollers need adjusting it is an easy process, I did mine last summer. When you pull the roller out you will see why they go out of adjustment easily.
Obtain an 18” piece of 2X4 and a 4-5’ piece of 2X4. The short piece of 2X4 is for under the fully extended bed slide. The long piece is placed on top of a jack so that you can jack up one side about 1-2” so that the roller (behind the rubber seal) can be pulled up and out of its holes. The rollers have a 90° threaded rod welded on to each end that drops down into holes in the frame. The nut on the rods determine the height of the slide. Adjust the nut down the rod slightly to give proper clearance. If a second nut were added as a jam nut it may prevent the nut from rotating from vibration and going out of adjustment.

Hello Don,
Thank you for that. I will save for reference.
Ironically, I was probably half way there. We got to a point where the slide was going to go out one more time and that was it. I took some pressure treated 2x4’s with another to slide under the long 2x4 and wedge the slide up when I had an inch to go to get it closed.
EC said they put some lock tite on the threads but guess it did not last. Something is causing the slide roller to work itself out of position.
Everything else seems to be working correctly.
Good to hear from you.
Thanks again!
Tom

This may not be the roller you're looking for, and admittedly it is a different floor plan, but I just had a very similar issue resolved. Roller is sitting on a plywood "box" that is attached to the wall of the slide. Roller can be raised or lowered with the nuts you see in the pic. In my case, the "box" had become separated from the slide wall, and the entire assembly had sagged enough that the slide would not retract into the opening. "Box" was rebuilt and reattached and now all is well. A tip of the hat to Justin and crew at NIRVC (GA) who did the whole thing in about 2 hours. I did get to watch, so if you need the step by step, maybe I can help.

Marcos dad;
Thanks for the picture!
I’ve got a set of instructions from EC with poor photos covering steps to address this.
We are stopping at NIRVC next week for another issue and may add this to their to do list.
Wish there was access through the head of the bed.
Thanks again Don and Marcosdad.
Tom

Hi Stew. I don’t have a problem with my slide (yet) but I’m interested for my own education. I have a 2021 Aspire so mine could be different but your picture is confusing to me. The picture appears to show the roller at the top of the opening with the “U-shaped threaded piece” opening pointed down. Is the picture inverted in the post? I know that happens a lot when posting pics. Secondly it appears that the roller assembly in behind a cabinet door based on the latch striker shown on the left side. If so, where would that door be? My coach doesn’t seem to have any cabinet door near where the roller(s) would be.
Can you help me understand? Thanks in advance for your help.

The pic is not inverted. The U shaped roller bracket goes down into the "box" which is attached to the motor home body and the slide is on top and rolls in and out resting on the roller(s). On my floor plan, this roller is under the shower area vanity and is accessed by a hatch (faux drawer) under the sink, and a piece of trim covering which was knocked out and replaced to open the area so the work could be performed. Your floor plan is surely different since there is no Aspire X.

Thanks Stew, now I see it and it makes sense. Alas, my floor plan is completely different just as you said.

Abe, thanks for that. I saved that procedure. Just could not find your post in my search but knew it existed.
My slide looks like yours but on the other end.
I can barely see the roller on one end, hence the request for a better photo.
I’ve got an appt at NIRVC to get it adjusted.
Tom
