Picture Replacement

How hard is it to remove and install new pictures on the wall? How are the pictures mounted?

Thanks!

Metal mounts and velcro. We replaced with a mirror so we could watch TV sitting at the table facing the rear of the coach.

Doggiedaddy, are you saying that I can just pull them off or do I need to something like lift and pull?

Hank, the pictures are mounted to the wall with metal drop in hangers at the middle top. The sides and bottom are fixed with long Velcro strips. This is where I feel they went overboard. The Velcro is stapled to the walls with far to many "U" shaped staples. These staples are probably 1/2" long and very hard to pull out.

We replaced all of ours, but we had larger pictures that covered the original footprint of the factory pics.

BTW, you will just need to lift at the bottom and the one corner and you will be able to pull the old ones off.

X2 WAY too many staples.

I found that slipping a small putty knife between the two Velcro pieces at the bottom and sides helped to remove it. Once the photo is off you'll see all of the little staple holes in the wall if you remove the Velcro from the wall. Anything you cover it with will need to be at least the same size. On our last coach they didn't use staples but used 3M Double Stick instead of Velcro. That held better and didn't need staples so it was easier to remove.

On the Cornerstone we just removed the photo, kept the frame and put one of my photos into it. Also needed to replace the glass because the thin stuff they had in there wasn't very good quality.

Another ++ for NIRVC - we knew we wanted the generic art off and asked them to do it. Almost invisible result but a bit of carping by the tech about the number of staples.

A side benefit - if it hadn't looked good DW would have someone other than me to blame for a change

Yep, I did that on our 2000 DSDP years ago. Worked great as long as you remembered that the picture was reversed.

Wonder if when ordering a new coach the factory would leave the art off if asked?

Judge Judy and Jeopardy are OK but it doesn't work well with Wheel Of Fortune or Family feud.

Possibly but it may be tough to relay that information to the assembly line at the right time to ensure that the request gets to the right person. Ed Sampson is in charge of the last part of assembly, final fit and finish - which happens after the coach comes back from paint. If you could monitor where your coach is in the process you could contact him right after the coach gets back from paint and I'm sure it would work out.

We had them leave all the pictures (art) off of ours. They did install the mirror in bedroom, but no art.
