I had three new Mach 8 15,000 BTU units installed in Naples, Florida in March, 2015. My units were shipped with the new 3 blade fans. All fans were manufactured on 4/12/2014. All had the "B" part number designation. (1472B504). The first total fan failure was in early June on the rear unit. The second one happened today on the forward unit. I have replaced both with fans designated with part numbers 1472D504.

Front B broke. Didn't damage anything else, though. Just replaced all three. Have AC again!

Both!? Why not the third one! At this point you look like a marked man! I would replace the third one before it breaks and causes real damage!

Front A/C stopped working last week. Broken Fan Blade. Coleman sent replacements for all three units. Installed on two good units and waiting on new unit for front. On inspection of two other blades taken out of mid and rear I noticed hairline cracks in all of them on most the blades. It's not an issue of if it will happen it's when?

cracked 1472b504 fan blade

My heatpump started a noisy vibration. Found it to be the 1472b504 fan blade had cracks in it.
Called the phone number in this thread for airxcel customer service.
They took the model and serial number, my info and said they would send one to me.
Thanks all for the help!!

I only have 1 of these fan blades. The inside blower is a squirrel cage type that I don't want to bother if it gives no trouble. My front heat pump is a different model with different fan blades.

Add another to the list. A few nights ago the #3 unit started up and it sounded like a helicopter was tying to land on top of our coach. Got it shut down quickly - inspection the next day showed a large crack in the hub at the base of one of the blades but no other damage. All 3 units had B fans. Entegra got Airxcel to ship 3 D versions and will pay to have them installed by a mobile tech who's scheduled to work on our AquaHot next week.

I assume they named this Mach 8 due to the fact these things sound like a space shuttle taking off even when they arnt cracked. I don't miss them a bit on my new coach with its old school "plus sized" AC units

Thanks for the update! About what time of year was your coach delivered? Friends with a 2015 delivered in May had C fans. Guess there are still a number of the defective B and C fans out there. My D fans have been installed for 14 months now and are holding up well.

Yeah does seem appropriate for the early units with the six blade A fans. The change to the 3 blade fans quieted things down significantly for most of us. Talked to the Airxcel rep at the Tampa show about it and he claimed they were also looking at making changes to the shroud grill to reduce the noise even further.

Coach was built in November '14
