Ron, our coach was built in December, 2014 and we also had the "B" fans, we lost two blades within a week when we were in Las Vegas in September last year with temps of 120 degrees...Not Fun! The good news is since the new "D" fans have been installed the units have been working great.

I am still scratching my head over vendors that know they have defective products out there on coaches, do nothing to get them replaced until the customer needs to use it and it doesn't work. Some with the A/C when it is 100 degrees and other with Aqua Hot motors when its 30 degrees. It seems both items need to be checked as it not a matter of if they fail, but when.

My unit started to shake like a jackhammer and sounded like a helicopter landing on the roof and then a loud boom.

That's the 'C' fan, by the picture. You want the new 'D' fan with better reinforcement.

Sure is. FeyerEagle, assuming you have more than one AC unit and the others don't have "D" fans (have a B or C in the middle of the part number), get Airxcel to replace them all. The others WILL fail. They should have recalled these. To avoid hassle just tell them the others are cracked (and I bet they are). They should not charge you anything for the replacements. Also check the motor mounts to be sure they are not torn or loose.

Just got my 14 Anthem back from Lazy Days. The front AC unit (with D fans) broke a motor mount and ate itself. Cost was about $1400 for new AC unit. Had to pay deductible, Starting to use that pricey extended warranty! Cool again.

Heard this jack hammering sound coming from my 5er roof, second mach 8 tripped breaker, got up one the roof, pulled the cover,
One Blade was completely detached from the hub and the motor was off the mounts lying up against the shroud mounting bracket, checked the other mach 8 and noticed minor cracks in that fan blade as well

Better customer service IMO would be for RVP/Airxcel to replace these clearly defective fans before they cause us owners needless grief.

Totally agree and the repair for the motor mounts that come loose such as Dave just experienced. Both do the same amount of damage.

Thanks to Dave's reminder, I checked mine before leaving on this trip or I would have been in a shop also.

2015 Anthem. Wife reports Starflight landing on the bedroom and knew what it was. CS sent 3 kits by air and took them to local center in Bryan TX for repair. Nice that the other two are sharing vents or TX heat would have killed us. Or DW.

Is Airxcel and Coleman the same unit? I have Colemans and inspected everything last Sunday. All the connections tight, and the fans looked good. Did not remove the blade, but looked over them very good. Seems like the brochures in my black box are Airxcel, but my covers are clearly Coleman?
