Pocket Door Air Leak?

My 2018 42DEQ has a vent fan in kitchen. When I turned it on I was surprised at the blast of cold air coming from the pocket door. When I looked into the pocket door area I could not see anything obviously open to the basement.

Has anyone else experienced this and looked into in more depth? If there is an opening it would take away a lot from the insulation in the coach.

Has anyone done anything to stop the air flow out of the pocket door area? I think wide masking tape would do a good job but look terrible. Is there a more permanent solution?

I’m not sure exactly of the opening you are describing but my old 42DEQ did not behave that way. My current 44B doesn’t seem to either. My guess is the floor below the pocket door has a large cutout for the electrical and or heater hoseruns. If you get in the basement below that door you probably can have an assistant focus a bright light from above and see how much is open. If possible I’d try sealing some of that opening up with either rubber slideout seal material or Eternabond. If the opening is required for the hose movement with the slides I’d try to find some of that broom like sweep material. If it’s just a drastically large cutout that is not required try some small paneling. Flexible foam might also work, just be careful to observe how the cables and hoses behave when closing the slides.

I also found a few air holes while stringing LED lights in the basement. Some were for Aqua Hot lines, some electrical. A $2.00 can of expanding foam took care of all of them. I was lucky, my coach was new and the basement was empty, so I sealed all of them including the kitchen slide.

Thanks for the ideas.
The vent fan in the 2018 is above the microwave so close to the pocket door. When the pocket door is open (in its stowed position) and the vent fan turned on, cold air comes out both sides of the door.

Looks like the door is just above the wet bay area. I opened the panel today and looked up at the myriad of pipes and hoses. There is a large opening for the shower drain and several smaller openings, none of which have any sealant. Looks like a big job for someone more flexible than I to reach in and up to all those places. I will put it on my to do sometime list.

A trick, take a 24 inch piece of plastic tubing, I used ice maker line, it fits on the can nozzle. Tape it to a 1/4 in piece of dowel and now you can reach all the place hard to get to with the foam.

But, tape it good. I have a reusable foam gun that uses cartridges and I use vinyl tubing (actually, some came with the gun kit) to reach into areas at well. That works well but if the hose pops off of the nozzle while you are spaying foam due to the back pressure you will make a mess and that stuff doesn't clean up easily. Don't ask how I know that.
