Portable Fire Pits

Robin has decided she wants to add a fire pit in our load. We have seen a number of parks and resorts that allow propane fire pits but not wood or charcoal. I’m looking for propane fire pit recommendations.

Thanks.

We are considering this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TNS8HMI...s-8974-20&th=1

Vance, that's the exact same one we have and it works great. You'll be amazed at the amount of heat it puts out once the lava rock gets good and hot. If you have propane on your coach, it's easy to add a connection and run off of that. If not, it will work from a 20lb tank.

We also have an Outland Propane fire pit. We have not used it a lot but enjoyed it when we have used it.

We have one of these, but without the auto ignition. I use a butane stick to light. It is terrific and I highly recommend! I carry a separate 20# tank that I use for both the fire pit and my grill. Bought that at Tractor Supply along with an "milk crate" to keep it stable when traveling. I looked at connecting to my on board propane tank but since it is on the other side of the coach I opted for the portable tank. This fire pit is something we really enjoy.

What we have is not exactly as the amazon one but love the one we got. Paid $99.00 for it. Went to Home Depot and bought more lava rocks and filled it up where I could just barley get the lid on. Made a big difference with the extra rocks.

So we have had EXACTLY this model for the last 4 years and we echo everything that others have stated. I modified ours to connect directly to our onboard propane tank (42GA) and have up to 20' of quick-connect hose.

I also have to give amazing Kudos to Overland for customer support. After 4 years the igniter gave up the ghost. I checked their website for a replacement part and it didn't appear. I sent an email to the company's customer service dept and they confirmed that this part was not available as a spare part but they would and did send me a replacement free of charge!!! They even sent me a couple of follow-up emails to make sure everything was OK..... Overland has a customer for life in this guy

+5 on the Outland propane fire pit. We love ours. Lots of heat and no smoke! Get the model with a lid. Makes it a lot easier to get it out of the basement without dumping all the rocks on the ground.

I bought this one from Camco on Amazon. About $100, and I pulled out some of the lava rock and replaced them with 1/2" colored glass beads. Really cool look, and easy to store.

I have a Little Red Campfire, in large part because it’s small and has a lid with clamps. I modified it to use the regulated propane in the van (11” WC) instead of the 120” WC the regulator it came with provides off a 20 lb cylinder.

It has a big brother called the Big Red Campfire, which may interest you, though it’s still smaller than the others you’re looking at.

We have the Outland Cypress and have a tap off the coach for propane. We like it but it is a bit large and takes up a good bit of real estate in the bay when stored away.

Portable Fire Pits

Yup, campfire in a can! We have the larger one. It is still compact, travels well and assembles easily. No mess, no fuss. It’s all about being able to use it then close it up and put it away, no clean up.

I bought one very similar with the folding legs. Mine came with a carrying/storage bag. I did add some fake logs on top of the lava rock.

Yep, mine had the carry bag as well. Stores easily, and in a small space.
