I recently tired of the constant cleaning of both the generator and A/H exhaust tips (rust) and the unsightly appearance of the galvanized backing (rust fm. rear A/C drain tube and peeling paint) on the mud flap, of which I tried to paint last year. I found a Company that was able to coat the three items in a semi-gloss black finish with a turn around of ~2-3 days and a cost of $150.00.
I know numerous Owners have purchased stainless tips although I hadn't seen any mention of the backing plate done in stainless. I thought it was a relatively inexpensive way to clean up the look, and their placement lend itself to, throughout the day, blend in with the shadows created as the sun moves.
I actually am not a fan of the "blacked out" look but if done tastefully

I thought it might work. If all else fails and I no longer enjoy the look I could always purchase the stainless items at that time.
