Pre-deployment Checklist
Getting ready to head out on a 60 day 7000 mile journey from NC to OR and back again.
Bought the coach new 8 months ago.
Have 3000 miles on it now.
Would like to have some preventative maintenance done prior to departing NC.
Please provide me some items that I should consider the Cummins/Spartan Shop to look at before we go.
Change oil - and lube?
Just inspect everything?
Thanks,
Curt

I certainly would have Cummins take a peek at everything. At least in our area Cummins is certified to work on Entergras and know a lot about them. We really appreciated their inspection of our Berkshire from head to toe and felt a lot more comfortable in setting out for the winter.

Check all fluids and let it eat highway. 3,000 miles isn't anything.

How many hours on the genny? First oil change is supposed to be at 50 hrs then subsequent ones at 100s hrs. Easy to do yourself.

Curt,
Can't help you out on your pre-deployment checklist, but want to wish you all the best on your long distance "shake out cruise" on your new rig. I hope everything works as it should and that you have a wonderful trip and safe travels. God bless!

Curt the oil is not due to be changed for 15,000. A lube job yes, especially the drive shaft, I hit my U joints ever 5000 miles, check the fluids, the air in the tires and and have a great trip.

Pack your coach and then have a 4-corner weigh done. Set your tire pressures accordingly. Don't forget to include the weight of all human and fur kids in the total weight.
Sanitize your water system if the coach hasn't been used in a while.

You must not run your genny much when driving down the road. I run my AC units and the genny a lot to keep the RV cool. I have come back from trips with 100 hrs added.

The hours will most likely dramatically increase -- since this will be my first summer excursion.

Curt,
I just got back from a 5,500 mile trip. The Entegra was flawless. I drove it most of the time at 75 mph (towing) since that was speed limit out west. I ran the genny on a few days, and on those days, mostly all day long because if the heat. Check the fluids, Keep the rubber side down, point her west and let her do what she was built to do, carry you in luxury. I was not disappointed at all in my Anthem.

Curt,
We had our oil changed, change the both fuel filters and had the chassis checked. We are also leaving on a long 13 state trip so that's what I had checked. I'm going to check the generator oil before we leave and will have radiator fluid and extra DEF onboard. I'm going to pickup spare fuel filters and belts before we go. We did a recent 1000 mile trip, no issues. We leave Friday for the long trip.

I'm currently in the west-100 degrees. I was quite comfortable driving with just the dash air. No need to run the genset with just the DW & two yorkies. Now if we had people in the back, I'd have to add roof AC, but the dash air handled the front end very well.
