EC Anthem, the biggest issues are how to get under the coach safely and fluid disposal.

I purchased a pair of 20 Ton Heavy Vehicle jack stands and use them routinely.

I also purchased several 2.5 gallon waste oil jugs from Autozone. I like to install a Fumoto on the engine only and that makes capturing oil a snap.

The generator doesn’t need a Fumoto as it only holds 6 Qts. Servicing the generator is no more difficult than a typical automobile. Use a breaker bar to loosen the drain plug the first time, as it is super tight. Beware the new generators have an initial 50 hour oil change requirement.

Also note that the latest Spartan owners information has been updated. Oil changes at 15,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first. That is a change from the past of 15k/12 months.

Current version is V22. Motorhome Operations and Maintenance Manual Final Release V22 12-5-16.pdf

Hmmmm......Cummins says 20,000 miles or 12 months for the ISL.

Here’s the Cummins maintenance link:

I will continue to follow the engine manufactures manual for the engine and the chassis manufactures manual for chassis maintenance schedules. V.22 might be a misprint.

I really think that there is great variability depending on how much you do yourself. Parts not so bad, but labor is a killer.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't had time to look at the new CD so I am sure my spreadsheet needs updating. I also plan to add non-Spartan items.

I think I'll cross reference to the manufacturer's manuals as well.

Gary, in the Spartan interval, it also states to reference the manufacturers guidance.

To my knowledge, the vocational use interval is still 12 months or the mileage, whichever happens first.

The Fumoto for the Cummins is a 104. I am using the nipple. https://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-F-104N.../dp/B003VC97N0

F-104N as Chuck uses.

FYI, the Fumoto won’t fit on the generator. In that case I have a Femco on the way.

I hope this is the correct Femco setup..

Standard Drain Set LB 6920047 M22x1,5mm-T10 8/4 1 $42.95
Chain + Clip 951003

Their system uses 2 components, the drain plug and the drainer. There are a number of drainers, including a drainer designed to draw samples. The kit I ordered has a hose style drainer.

Now if I could only figure out a way to install one of these on the hydraulic system. That job is truly a mess. I used a huge tarp, an assortment of drain pans, and drip pans and it still was like a hydraulic fluid Nagasaki under the coach.

The only bright spot was that I removed the line at the pump and it drained the reservoir and lines. The spin on was still full. No mess inside the engine compartment.

I read over the entire maintenance schedule in this link and could not find reference to 6 months on oil changes. Do you have a page number?

I have not received any notification from Cummins changing from 12 months to 6 and they are backing the warranty.

Chuck, that 6 month reference was from Spartan. This is an image from their app.

In the same line, they say to reference the engine manufacturers’ manual. Cummins says 12 months or 20,000 miles.
