Does this apply to the DOT portable tanks or do they also do that for the built in tanks?

U Haul took a picture of the tag on my chassis mounted, motor home, propane tank before filling.
My tank is a 2017 and I was in New York.

Its seems to be a U Haul policy.

Farmer co ops

Tractor supply as previously suggested.
Most rural community s along interstates have both.

Look for grain storage facilities.
Google Farmers co op near here.

Most always cheaper also.

ASME permanently mounted propane tanks do not have an expiration date as do DOT portable tanks. DOT tanks have a 12 year service life. The permanently installed 50 gallon ASME tank in my 2012 Aspire was manufactured by Manchester Tank in Illinois as part #68491. It IS NOT subject to the DOT 12 year portable tank expiration. The ASME tank is manufactured to a different standard than the life limited DOT portable tank. If people are refusing to fill your ASME tank because they are attempting to apply a standard of a different product, they are simply wrong/uninformed.

Maybe UHaul changed policies after this.

Untrained personnel were found to be dispensing propane.Click image for larger version

Propane Refill

We use Costco for lowest price and the Allstays app and web site when there is no Costco nearby to fill our built-in tank. I have learned to call first to verify the info on the web site.
