Pump upgrade?

Good morning everyone. I'm wondering what if any pump upgrades are available. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket pumps. My sure flow bit the dust this morning. I have replaced one before on my previous coach and it's no fun. Rather than replace this with the same one, I would like to look for alternatives. Any ideas and info is much appreciated

Thanks in advance

If you are talking about fresh water pumps any brand will work just fine. We have the sureflow 4gpm pump and I also keep a spare as they are cheap. Look on Amazon

As luck would have it, we had overnighted at the mothership. A quick call to Joyce and 45 minutes later we were on our way with a new pump installed in the parking lot. Being this is my third coach aol three had sure flow pumps fail, I'm going to look for an alternative. As a few others have done, I will also look to relocate into a more accessible location

That’s good you were there. We were in the parking lot for a few days. Then pulled out yesterday afternoon.

When you said the pump failed did you mean it was 100% dead? At one point I also thought mine went dead and ended up being the connection at the pump.

Pressure slowly dropped to nothing. It was never very good to begin with. The new one is working perfectly.

We used to have water pump failures every few months. The original 4008 pumps were terrible, noisy and very low flow and pressure.

I replaced with a shurflo 4048, lots more flow and higher pressure.
Note the 4048 is BIG. It will not fit where Entegra put the 4008, not even if you have long skinny arms to reach it.
I also added a "silencing kit" which consisted of some hose and rubber mounts. I mounted the pump to a piece of 1x6 which I screwed to the center of the white panel in the wet bay! I like access.

Then I started running into power problems. The factory breaker is 7 amps, wire is 14 gauge. 4048 pump is rated at 10 amps!
I put in a relay, and pulled the power from the macerator circuit.
Then the pressure switch in the pumps started burning out. They use a tiny cherry microswitch! I rewired the pump so the pressure switch goes to my new relay instead of to the pump motor.

I used a 3 pin connector for power ground and control, setup my main and spare pump for plug and play, 10 minute swap out easy.
My last pump went 3 years, I'm happy with that compared to 6 pumps the first year.

“New Aquajet Water Pump”. Found in search, might be of interest.
