Very cool. Brings back memories. I used to work for the BLM as a Ranger and spent many holidays patrolling Glamis. Never made it to LaPosa though. I don't miss the drama that the dunes bring but the experiences were awesome!

Sorry that I missed the Gathering as well - pictures look good. Had to fly back and be in DFW area this week. I was hoping to get to test out my new Lifeline batteries there. It has been cooler than normal in Indio, so I image Quartzsite has been cooler at night and in the early mornings.

Those of us that have made the Gathering every year agree that this has been the coolest/coldest and "windy-est" year at the Gathering ever... The wind has been strong enough that we have had minimal participation at the bonfires and we have had to serve dinners ( "catered" and potlucks) with food on tables inside a walkthrough trailer (Sune Brodin's) and then people ate their dinners in the comfort of their own coaches.

Temps have been 10 - 20 degrees cooler than usual, and winds 20 - 30 (gusts to 40) all day.... "flags straight out". Still fun but not as much socialization between coaches as normal. Sunny days .... highs upper 50s to low 60s, nights below freezing every day of the Gathering.... AquaHots, Onans, and house batteries getting a work-out. Beautiful weather until a week before Gathering, and then boom....

How are those later model coaches that recently had the Vega Touch charging issue holding up? I hope all of their batteries are holding 8-10 hours of charge with no problems with the batteries.

Sure sorry to hear of the weather. I have a friend held up in Waco TX because of the wind and snow heading to the Grand Canyon.

Chuck, I was not at Quartsite but I got 14 hours on my coach batteries at the Tampa Super show. The show had power problems to put it nicely. That was with just some lights, refrigerator, and basement cooler, plus whatever small draws are always on.

Then I stopped for a night in Tennessee on the way home and we got 10 plus hours with the same things on plus the Aquahot. We might have got a little more but we started the generator because we were going to use the coffee pot and wanted the fireplace on.

And I have my auto gen start set conservatively at 12.0V.

I am hopeful the charging issue is resolved. We have not used our batteries much on this coach. I am still trying to baby my batteries when I can. We rarely park without hookups for more than a quick night.

Hal, that is great news..... really glad to hear it. I am going to try an all day unplug on my coach and see what the results are. Short power unplugging has not looked good, but I m going to have to do longer test as you have done.
I spoke with Ted Cook at the end of the show and he said nobody was having battery issues that was brought to his attention.
