Question for you electric gurus

I'm not sure if this is possible or not. This is the problem; I need to get 230v 3A out of the batteries while traveling. I believe my 2015 anthem has two inverters with their own power supply from the batteries... so is it possible to get 230v using both?

Highly unlikely they are designed to accomplish that task.

Perhaps a high end inverter from the Solar industry might do the job.

Sure curious why you need that much voltage.

What is it that requires 230 volts?

You need a voltage doubler but I doubt that you can do it by combining two separate magnum inverters.

In looking into this, I see a voltage doubler actually usually produces DC output, not AC.

Maybe an electrical engineer will come along and give us the answer. By the way, what could you be trying to power that need 230-240 volts AC while underway.

European country's use 230 volts all of the time. Should be adaptors/ converters out there.

You would need the two inverters to talk to each other and be 180 degrees out of phase.

I don't think it will work for you,

Would the fact that one inverter is a pure sine wave 2800 watt unit and the other a 2000 watt modified sine wave unit be an additional problem?
Later...

That could create havoc for sure.

I like twin boats suggestion but still want to know what they need 230 for.

Keep in mind the Honda Generators that can be used in companion but must have a cord connecting them to sync things. They do not produce 230 of course.

The product that you are looking for is called an autotransformer. It will turn 120V into two 120V lines that are 180* out of phase, which is needed for 240V.

We are still wondering why you need this type of circuit.

If you had Dual Victron Multiplus or Quattro inverters they could be programmed in split phase but this is not an option with your Magnum inverters without using an autotransformer. They sell for about $500 - 700 based on the model you choose.

For those who are wondering why I want 220v, it's for another of my projects. I am going to install a mini-split in my Anthem. I am going to use a 12K BTU system. They come in 110/120v or 220v. The 110v system would work and there are others that claim they run them off of solar panels/batteries. My issue is that I want a low floor or floor mount console and they only come in 220v systems. From what I've read, people that have these systems in their RV's say they are great. Low noise, low energy consumption, lots of heat in winter, great cooling capability, etc. As opposed to the roof top units that are very inefficient, noisy and barley able to keep up with the FL heat. The way I'm going to install it I will be able to remove it if I don't like it and you'd never know it was ever there. I'm probably going to go with the 220v system. According to the installation manual for the generator, it can put out 120/240v. Right now, I'm still in the discovery stage. Any comments (as if I need to ask) ?

When I needed 120 vac in Europe I used a transformer to convert from 220 to 110.
I would think that transformers can convert 110 to 220 as well.

Outback chargers/inverters can be set up for 240v. With only a 3 amp load I would look at 120/240 1 phase transformer. You would be pulling around 800 watts 120v and that would be doable with your inverter as long as you watch what you have on.
