You never get what you don't ask for

So I talked to Spartan yesterday and explained my situation. The service tech I spoke with told me I was just outside the grace period. Indicating that yes they have made some exceptions in a 6 month window with low mileage situations. I am 10 1/2 months out of warranty and 400~ miles over warranty. I agreed and asked who could authorize it and what is the process to make the request. He indicated my service center rep would need to call Spartan and provide some data/documentation and that he would escalate it and see what happened.

I went in asking for a discount on the radiator, I did not ask for a free radiator, just acknowledged I was out of warranty but looking for some help as I understand this is a known issue.

(The cost from Spartan is $1400.00 plus shipping....BTW)

My service center guy called him and they spoke a few times yesterday and he provided pictures. I am happy to report this morning that Spartan agreed to provide a radiator at no cost in a goodwill gesture. I am responsible for the labor and I think this is more than a reasonable response considering my situation.

It also ensures my next coach will be on a Spartan chassis, in fact that was one thing that really got me. We were at Lazydays 3 days before this started and have been talking to NIRV off and on for 3 weeks considering a move up to an Anthem or newer Aspire. Goodwill ACHIEVED

It's been quoted as standard 24 hour labor job plus antifreeze shop supplies etc to swap the radiator ..and that's at a shop that's done multiple of them.. a shop that isn't familiar could be more...@ 150 bucks an hour...ouch...on a radiator that should of never ever failed ... it's cool at least you got the radiator but spartan should honor this issue imo..

Having just replaced our radiator in September, if at all possible, I would try to get into Spartan in Charlotte. Ours was replaced in about 8 hrs or less. Although it was replaced under warranty, their posted labor rate is only $110.00 an hour.

We drove around for about 2 months after notifying Spartan we had a leak, just added fluid when we needed it. Thankfully ours was a small leak, like most others, and Charlotte wasn't that far off course

Hope that helps, Brian

Ours is at the local Spartan Service Center in Nashville. I did not really have an option to go anywhere else with my work schedule. I guess it is all a matter of perspective, like so many things in life. I am happy with the result, others may get more or may get less and their level of happiness will be up to them.

Thanks for all the comments, help and suggestions from the beginning.
