Rain leaking into basement

I have rain leaking into the basement at the door in front of the dual wheels on the passenger side (while parked). It is the opposite side of the sewer/water compartment. It appears that the water is coming from inside the walls (between the two slides) and exiting 2 small square holes that were made for this purpose, but on my RV the water makes it's way into the basement. I have tried to stop it by tightening the door in order to have the rubber seal make better contact, but water is still getting inside. Has anyone else had this problem, if so, how did you fix it? I took pictures but they don't show well so haven't attached them.

Not sure if this is your issue, but see this thread for some ideas:

Gizmo...are you sure it is rain? I had water build up inside the slide that was coming from the under sink fittings,,,,running down the pex and landing on the floor of the slide,,,,dripping into the holes and into the compartment...leak was just enough to wick down the pex slow but steady.

Yes, I'm sure it is rain. The compartment is dry when not wet outside. I looked at the thread that Ron suggested, and don't think that is the problem either. The water is definitely dripping from the two holes above that door and the weather stripping isn't keeping it out of the basement as I think it is supposed to do. When it dries up I will remove the weather stripping and put some silicone in the groove , then shove it into it's place. I would like to know where that water is coming from that drips on the weather stripping inside that door.

Bob it is coming in from the seam that connects the outside wall to the top of the motor coach. They put about a 1/2 inch band that they screw into the side of the coach that connects the outside wall to the piece that turns into the roof. Then a strip of vinyl that is painted the color of the coach covers the screw holes. That is your week link. Remove the vinyl piece and check to see if screws loosened or in some cases screw holes that were not covered with sealant. In my case I found opened screw holes because the builder missed the stud removed the screw, located the new stud and left that screw hole open to the elements.

I attached a picture of how the water will flow down the inside of the exterior wall and come out in your basement. See the wetness in the hole that Entegra uses for the passenger slide. That is what water looks like when it gets behind the exterior wall, Doesn't come inside the coach, but ends up flooding your basement in a heavy rain. Usually you can go directly up the side wall from where you note the water coming in and that is the area that needs repair. Studs on 16 inch centers are glued every 16 inches so water will not travel beyond that 16 inch area.

Easy fix just a PITA. This should help you. Let me know.

Gizmo

Read that link Brobox provided about Pat Bauer's leak. It sounds identical to your problem.

Whoops

I didn't know about the issue Mike pointed out.

I have a leak in the same compartment only when raining and only when driving. Have tightened the door...may have helped a bit, but not enough, and now have a new gasket which I will have Beaver install next month. No rain here in N Idaho but we need some to combat the fires

I think you are right Mike. The coach has to go to the repair shop for more screws in the roof and a reseal, so I'll point out this problem to them and have the tech check out that plastic cover that you talk about. I'll post it as soon as I can see results either way. Thanks everyone for your ideas. That's what this forum is all about.
