Hi Gary,

Nope, not shielded.

I appreciate that radio frequency interference (RFI) can be a problem and that it's been suggested that River Park doesn't endorse the use of an extension cable.

The diagnostics that the RM tech support agent asked me to run this morning didn't show any corrupted files on my SD card. I haven't had a chance to put the SD card back into the Xite head unit to confirm operation.

I did delete the Dock software and re-installed it. During that re-installation, the \NaviMaps\DCA.x.xx.SDL files were overwritten and now show a "Date Modified" of today. I'm optimistic that all is good now.

Although I don't share your concern about RFI, thanks for the suggestion.

Take care,
Stu

It does indeed. I use my cellphone as the hotspot. This allows you to use the weather function which you can then overlay on the mapscreen. I think there are 10 options to choose from. There is also an option for fuel prices and when it's working, "Traffic Everywhere" which will show current traffic flow along your route. There is an annual subscription fee for the Traffic Everywhere, $20.00. I would wait until RM gets the bugs worked out from their recent hacking experience before purchasing this option.

Hope this helps, Brian

Thanks,
That confirms what I thought. I have read the manual and have tried to find the link on my XITE unit. No luck, for whatever reason. I will have another go at it. My SXM button seems to be inactive as well. Probably unrelated.
