I am now having trouble with the brown rubber surface previously attached to the upper fiberglass steps into the coach from the main door becoming loose and detached. I had one or two of the rubber mats repaired when back for my two year PDI but now the rubber mats are coming loose again. Obviously, what was done to reattach them in Middlebury did not work well as that was only 6 months ago.

I assume that others have found a better way to attach those rubber step sections.... Any recommendation on what has been found to work well?

I had the same issue about 6 months ago.
Just used clear silicon gel, like sealing the windows, and so far so good. Thought of using epoxy, but if that did not work it would be harder to clean off.

As a side note, took the bus in to get it ceramic coated this morning. Will let you know how it came out.

Contact cement. It's what professional installers use. Apply it to both surfaces, allow to setup for at least 15 minutes before bonding the two together.

I just noticed this on our rig as well. I will try the contact cement when we get back to coach next month. Have our AIR in Oct, but don't want to wait for then.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll give contact cement a try.

What appears to be there from the factory is a clear adhesive of some sort ( maybe contact cement) but it is just not sticking anymore.

Wonder if the old stuff can be removed with Acetone or some other substance?

Gary, I'll watch your progress so I am ready when I get back to the rig. There didn't seem to be much residue under ours, I was feeling like they may have gone thin on whatever they used.

As for the contact cement, I would go to an auto parts store for it. I believe 3M has an entire line of automotive adhesive products that dealers use and are over the counter.

If you try acetone or Goo Gone adhesive cleaners, you might try a heat gun to help soften the adhesive, then use a scraper.
If the adhesive is hardened, I would consider a grinder or sanding wheel on a drill while it is dry. Then wipe down with isopropyl alcohol to remove remaining dirt and dust. Isopropyl preps the surface better than acetone. Then apply the contact cement as Chuck recommends.
