Recall 14V-812 Loose Castle nuts

So I receive recall notice 14V-812 from Spartan in the mail yesterday dated January 26, 2015, regarding potentially loose castle nuts on the stering column for my 2014 Anthem I've had a year. So then I research this morning and find a blog dated January 2014 that had the same problem and included the repairing dealer having to use a "loaned" tool from Spartan to remove the castle nuts, apply lock-tite, and then re-install castle nuts and tighten to 250 ft/lbs torque. So I am VERY curious why I would receive this recall notice A YEAR after another notice with a different notice number was sent out regarding loose steering column nuts that the letter states, "A loose castlenut on a steering may allow the steering linkage to become loose without warning. If the steering linkage separates from the bell cranks, loss of vehicle control could occur and possibly resulting in a vehicle crash"!!!!! ALL SPARTAN OWNERS SHOULD CHECK IN TO THIS TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT HAVE A LOOSE CASTLE NUT ISSUE!! Tommy

I have not received a recall notice. I have a 2012 Aspire ... do you know if it is for all Entegra coaches, designated year, model, etc?

I have mine going to the shop in Pflugerville, Tx on 2/24 and would like to have all recalls completed.

Thanks for the info!

Call Spartan with your VIN and they should be able to tell you exactly.

I called Spartan. They were able to pull up my record and confirmed that this recall does not apply to my coach.

The first recall notice was under a different recall number for the exact same problem. It was for coaches mfg from Sept 2012 through June 2013. There is another blog where an owner's rv was under the first recall and repaired in Jan 2014. The second recall that just came out included coaches mfg from July 2013 through I don't know the date where they finally started applying lock-tite to castlneuts prior to delivery. All the folks I've spoken with have stated there have been a few with loose castlenuts. Not a good situation for the integrity of the steering mechanism.

Marc, Appears your coach date (2013) would've been possibly in the previous recall notice and not 14V-812.

I was covered by the earlier recall and had my coach inspected for that in January 2014. I was not aware that this is a new recall for the same issue. How would one know that? Anyhow, a call to Spartan with your VIN number and they can bring you up to date on the status of your coach.

Since we were picking up at the same time, I'm betting we're OK too.
