If you're a techie I would stay away from any dashcam that is out on the market. What you want is a security network setup. I use unifi video from UBNT (and for all my networking too in my cornerstone too). I keep the front camera's on full time recording (give me full dashcam use and security) flags timelines for motion and provides push notification alerts when I'm away from the coach.

I've added 2 cameras HD 1080p POE in the front and have multiple camera's for side views. I get alerts on motion from our LTE to coach setup and have automatic WAN failover for when we are hardwired or on WIFI and leave a park / home.

UBNT also sells a lower powered DVR (DC power available) system that ties and records all the cameras together. You can simply SMB mount your SAN. I run a 6 disk RAID array 28 TB with Plex for audio (DNLA compatible for your bose soundtouch) and have plex client on all the samsung TV for movies, music, pictures etc....

I also hard wired the TV's, Bose sound touch (it has a eithernet port with Wake on lan functionality) and our plex server, NVR UBNT video recorder to keep things super fast (ie. 4k movies) and then have all mobile devices on wifi.

One of the really interesting things is you can adapt / record from the built in coach camera's (rear and sides) by adapting the analogue inputs from these super crappy camera's to your NVR and add these to your security view/footage). Let me know if you'd like to know more!

You guys kill me with this techie talk! Last year I decided to redo our entertainment system to make it "wireless" at our Bahamas home. Three sets of Bose outdoor speakers running on Sonos amps, four camera security DVR, DIRECTV, BluRay, multiCD player, AppleTV, MiFi device, Ethernet hub, UPS power, etc. I think I counted 32 cables when I finished hooking it all up. Took me a whole day just to organize the wires!

WoW you are light years ahead of what I was thinking but you have me intrigued now.

I would like to know more if you have time and willing to share. How may hotspots do you have, what model # is the cameras, did you wire or did you have the manufacture prewire, etc....

I will IM you my email address if you prefer to use it.

did not know the best place to drop this question, I new to site - first time. I have a Fendt caravan/camper and once my vehicle starts a left turn all bets are off as to where the right rear corner of my 32' camper is - mirrors don't help. I have purchases a system with back and side cameras but would like to know the best place to attach the side view cameras to anticipate the sweep of the rear of the caravan - high, low, close to the front or back????

Take a look at the 360 camera systems here:

https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safet...rvs-77541.html

These systems give you a view that looks like you have a drone hovering above your RV. The spatial view is one you can't get from any single side or rear view camera. Even if you set a camera to always show the right rear corner you won't see see the surrounding area as the corner moves through space during a turn.

Don't forget that this SAN is going to bouncing down the road... and although Entegra Coaches motto is something like "Quietest riding coach produced", there are still bridge transitions that will shake your bones and rattle your teeth upon occasion.

I have everything of any relevance financially, legally, and even historically scanned or stored on a series of hard drives. I have a C and D (1T drive) drive on each of two desk tops at home, a 1T backup drive (HD passport drive for each of 3 laptops that travel with us, and then I have a big SAN in the house. But I also have two 2 T drives that I put in an outboard USB socket/unit that I back up only documents and pix and music too. What goes on the coach is all encrypted. I have access to everything on dual backups while on the road and three backups when at home. I use no cloud storage as my belief is that cloud storage is more likely to be hacked than my personal storage so I am not going to make it easy to anyone.

So original and 2 encrypted backups whole on the road, and original and three back ups when at home.

You never have enough IMHO.......... I know.

I have to kind of grin and all the personal security. Yet we use a credit card at Lowe's Target, etc and they are hacked all the time and our personal information is all over the world and nobody seems to be able to stop it.

Every time I charge even $1.50 on most of the cards that I carry, 30 seconds later I receive a text message from the card issuer that $1.50 has just been charged to my card and if I did not use it, immediately call 1-800-XXX-XXXX. Bingo!!! That is the best security that I can think of on a credit card.

I'll bet the 1.4 million cards hacked at Target wish all banks were like yours. My CC company Pen Fed was hacked and they supplied a two year credit guard service. They did email me to say they had been hacked, but it was a little late.
