Redwoods NP to Corvallis, Oregon

Is it better to take 199 to I-5 then north or take 101 to Florence, Oregon then take 126 to I-5? Driving Anthem with dolly and car. Thanks

The Redwoods on 199 are really close and leaning over the road in places so it would be doable but slow.
Not familiar with 126 so can't give an opinion there. But the 101 is easily doable and a great drive.

soundsuperio,

I have done both several times and for me it boils down to time and view.
If you want to see the coastal views and are not in a hurry, then go the coast and enjoy. It will add an hour or two just for the distance and terrain ( the rolling coastal hills are beautiful). Not to mention the stops you may want to make to enjoy the sights.
But when I'm just headed to Eugene I take 199, It's shorter time wise.

Good luck.

101 is my choice of roads for the scenery. We always stop at the docks in Crescent City OR and purchase fresh Albacore tuna or Salmon, depending on the season, right off the boats. Talk about the best evening BBQ on an RV trip there is, that has got to be it. Teriyaki Albacore on the grill is awesome.
