Refrigerator change out -

We had been in Tucson for a couple days and discovered that our 10 year old Whirlpool refer was dying a not so slow death. The challenge isn't in buying a new one - everyone from Best Buy, Home Depot etc etc have them by the hundreds and the prices aren't bad. The real challenge is finding a facility who will make the exchange - within 60 days!

Here's what we found. Remembering that this is the "high time" for snow birds. I first talked to Lazy Days Tucson who found it hard to believe that Entegra didn't use Norcold or Dometic refers in their motorhomes. They are an Entegra dealer afterall. That went nowhere.

Next a couple other national dealers who might be able to work me in by the 1st of March.....Finally I called Entegra and talked with Owen who advised that La Mesa RV in Tucson had a good reputation. I called La Mesa and talked with Mark, a service advisor, who took a couple hours to research our issue and what would be required to get us whole. He called back with a plan and started working with scheduling to get us in. He also said, and this is what got our attention, that "we'll work with your schedule". We drove to Best Buy, bought the refer that Mark had advised we buy, made arrangements to have it delivered to La Mesa while Mark scheduled an outside vendor to remove and replace our windshield and gave us a time 2 days later to have the coach on their ramp and did the deed in ONE DAY. And, they cleaned up after their work! What a concept.

In summation, they now have a customer for life - I'd recommend them if in the area. Their whole attitude goes so far above their competitors in the area it's really refreshing.

and now we have cold martinis without having to beg ice from the neighbors....

Happy New Year!

That's a great story. Great customer service is a difficult find these days. Our fridge died two years into it's life and we paid to have the compressor changed by a local appliance shop rather than go with a new one because of the hassle.

fantastic customer service,
no matter what brand, i like seeing good results.

our fridge we or ME just couldn't get past popping out the big window, so i searched and search to find a fridge that would fit through the front door, i found a samsung that was 23 3/4 inches wide all stripped down, so it slithered just in the door

best buy found one in washignton, we live in texas and they shipped it free to our closest store and then took off 1/3rd of the price when it was late by a few days in transit. glad yours worked out so well

Thanks for the update that Lazy Days is still as bad as ever and La Meza stepped up to the plate. La Meza opened of a store here in Ft Myers last year. Hopefully Snowbirds here in FL will see your post, it might save them a worthless trip to Lazy Days in Tampa.
