Removal of sliding wood door in front of washer?

I need to replace the slide that the wooden door slides on to reveal the washer and dryer units in my 2019 Cornerstone. Mine has lost the ability to stay put closed and i am currently tying it open as we bounce down the road.

I have looked at the slide, moved it back and forth, and examined it closely, and cannot for the life of me figure out how you get the wood door to slide completely off the slide so that I can get to the screw heads on the door and the cabinet.

Often, there are levers that you push up or down to release the slide so it comes apart, but I see nothing on this unit ..... anyone know the secret?

Gary

Removal of sliding wood door in front of washer?

The levers are there. Make sure you are getting the door to fully open. They just used drawer slides. I removed my door and replaced it with the old 2 door hinged method. Bought the doors that they used on the 2018 model. If keeping it closed is all you need have you tried using a Southco latch on it?

Gary

The door is perfect in every way except the slide no longer holds the door closed.

\What Southco latch are you talking about....? maybe you can just describe it.

I actually thought first of just drilling a hole through the door into the face wood and then inserting one of those pins which has a push button on the outer end and a barb or something that pops out when you insert the pin. Seemed like it wouldn't look too bad, but then I thought, no I will just replace the slide but I saw no drawer levers...... I will try pulling out even more. Maybe the levers are on the door side and not on the "facing" boards of the cabinet part of the slide. I might have to be standing in the empty closet and looking at the door from the back side to see the levers.

Gary, You are correct that the slide releases are on the door side of the slide (at least on my Tiffin). On mine the sliding door opens in front of the sink. So to get at mine I'd have to sit on the sink to get at the top one and blind reach behind the door to get at the bottom.

BTW, thanks for the question and thanks to nowabeachbum for your response. I've been wondering how I'd remove the door if I ever had to.

Gary, Just purchase a better slide at Lowe's like you did with the trash drawer. Sad to say, all of the poor quality slides probably come from the same supplier. You can even get better ones online.

The southco latch I was thinking about is the ones Entegra used to use.

OK, I have bunches of those in stock. Had to add several to the dinette table pull out (granite or stone is heavy) and some other drawers (big pots drawer under kitchen sink).

Southco makes several0 different types of latches so I was wondering, and thanks for that suggestion.... I think it would be exposed in that use but it would be back in the corner and not very visible.

Thanks Gary

I'm gonna try to replace with a better quality "self close" first and see if that resolves the problem. That is the kind of stuff that just I scratch my head about by all manufacturers of high cost items.... seems if they can save 50 cents by buying a cheap knock off, you save 50 cents.... amazing. Just doesn't make sense to me.
