Removing chrome tip from AH exhaust

I need to replace OEM pitted tip but having a heck of a time getting that original off. I have tried heating with torch, wrench, screw driver and hammer, WD40, it will not budge. I'm tempted to cut it off but may leave exhaust a little too short. Any suggestions?

Have you thought about slicing it with a die grinder or abrasive grinder? If you go easy it would leave the inner pipe intact. Even a dremel.

I actually have one of those and just bought a new cutting wheel, seems like a plan, thanks.

I just did the replacement on mine.. I had the freightliner take it off just for the reasons you're saying... I think they used a impact wrench and wd 40. I had the anthem there for something else and decided to let them get it off.. FYI. You can buy new exhaust tips at oriellys or auto zone.. get the 2 inch size...

Entegra simply drilled a hole through the chrome tip and the exhaust and then stripped the threads of the 2 screws they screwed in. I used a hand held grinder to grind off the heads and then knocked the screw shafts through the holes. The Gibson stainless tip still looks fantastic.

Gibson 500409 Polished Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip
Gibson Performance Exhaust

1 is for genny it is a direct fit and 1 is for aquahot however on the ahot you need a reducer will see if I can find the 1
you can get the reducer from any auto parts store you can cut that ahot off as the reducer is at least 4 inches long so it would even fit better if you cut the old tip off the aquahot exhaust Order detailsOrdered on May 18, 2016 (1 item)

Got it off with gridder and ordered the Gibson. Bought one at O'Rielly's with 2" inlet and it did not fit. My AQ exhaust end has a flair to it making it 2.25".
Thanks for all the help.

cool I had to use that reducer for whatever reason. I could have just made some kind of sleeve or exhaust manifold tape wrapped it just remember to angle it rear ward a bit so it burns going down the road a 85
