Replacement TIRE Time

Just about five years of ownership and 49,000 miles of pure enjoyment and it’s time for tire replacement on our ‘14 Anthem.

I’m staying with Michelin but looking for any suggestions about who to purchase from and will use the FMCA tire program if beneficial.

Any suggestion in Oregon would be beneficial, NO SALES TAX

JMHO: If you have no visible sidewall cracking on any of your tires, have them examined at a Michelin truck tire store , you could easily get another two years use out of the tires . I replaced Michelin tires last September when side wall cracks started to show. Rears were teenagers and front tires were 10 .

Check the Michelin Tire web site for info on, age as to , inspection or replacement.

Several good places for Michelin in OR that do the FMCA Advantage program. Superior Tire as well as Les Schwab.
Five years is too soon, mine went 9 years from manufacturing date.

Skip426,
Thanks for the always helpful information. We have had the tires inspected for cracks and they are visible. So time to replace before our three month fall excursion.

Ever since the, issue of, sidewall cracking on Michelins became evident , I've wondered if the country of manufacture or the year of manufacture was a determining factor, in the onset or severity . Spain was the country of manufacture of all 6 of my tires.
Don't know if there was any study on this .

You should be able to get a few more years on your tires if you know their history. Did you ever overload them sand drive at 70+ mph on hot days.

Replace on our new to us MH, Yokohama RY023 because the ten year old ones showed no signs of cracking. Made in the USA.

Michelin's recommendation to replace tires is 7 years.

However, I believe you replace tires when your internal sense of risk is exceeded. If you feel the need to replace, then replace.

I found that FMCA's tire program is impossible to beat, and I am very impressed by Michelins. My own values are that I will replace with Michelin.... I bought a luxury high end coach and I will run the best tires on it that I can afford. (I will say that I ran TOYO tires on my Dynasty and they were a lot less expensive than Michelins and they were fine tires.... But as long as I can afford them, I will replace with Michelin tires when I need to replace.

And, I have no idea of a good tire dealer in the Northwest. When I bought tires from FMCA, I did it through a local Michelin dealer and he simply sold the tires to me at FMCA's price and then somehow got reimbursed for his costs and any loss from Michelin. He told me that my price was better than his wholesale price.

Replacement TIRE Time

I believe Michelin has changed some of their guidelines in the latest RV literature.
7 years is the warranty length and they recommend inspections after warranty runs out and replace regardless at 10 years.
