Replacing AC Unit

Well I need to replace my front unit. The compressor locked up and I was just going to replace it until I found the real problem, the evaporator coil is leaking refrigerant. No sense messing with that and a compressor.

I’ve got a new Coleman Mach 8 ordered (4-8 week delivery time) but does anyone know if it’s plug and play with the VegaTouch Mira?

NIRVC Atlanta got me a Mach 8 in 24hrs 2 weeks ago and into install in less than a week. If there is a NIRVC in your area, might be worth a call.

The Mira is not an issue because the control board for the AC unit (silver box where all the wiring connects near the front of the AC unit) is typically not replaced with the AC unit making the swap fairly quick and easy.

If for some reason you did replace the control board you would need to open it up and set the dip switches to match your old one.

Make sure the new unit has a gasket on the bottom between the supply and return, when I replaced mine that gasket was not included. You can remove it from your old one.

Thanks Rob, that’s what I was looking for. Too lazy to go back up there and see what it had. I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t maybe a communicating system that needed configuration. If there’s a control box that’s simply just a swap out.
