Replacing Awning LED strip
I'm replacing one of my awning LED strips. How do you remove the old one from the channel it is in and get the new one in?
And no I'm not out to light up the neighborhood.
Later...

Very easy. The existing LED strips are 3M self adhesive. They will pull off. The wires a butt contented, I used spade connector on the replacement. Clean the track of the awning with rubbing alcohol for good adhesion. At the end of each strip, tack down with silicone so not to blow loose at 70 MPH.

I finally figured it out. They are adhesive but they were stuck to a clear plexiglass rod run inside a groove.
I had to remove the end cover of the awning and slide the rod(s) with LEDs attached out the end. I wonder if this was 2013 thing since mine is a late 13/early 14 model.

That was totally different then my midyear 14. I had photos of the complete process but those have long been deleted.

Well, looks like the actual problem may be in the wiring harness. Hooked up new LEDs and no go. Checked the voltage 6.8V, disconnect LEDs and voltage goes up to 12.5V. It's not the LED strip because it works fine when I connect it to the 12 volts for the vibration sensor.

Trace the wiring for bad connection

Typical symptom of a high resistance (corroded, loose or partially broken) connection somewhere in the power feed. '19 probably has Girards? Contact Entegra to get advice on how the wiring is routed for your year/model. Is this for the big awning or door awning? Are other awning LED's that come on with the same switch working OK?
Did you test the old LED strip? Perhaps it was ok too?

My wire leads on our exterior mounted Carefree awning have to be monitored for breaks.
Though your awning is different, might want to see from the roof what is going on when it is being stored/deployed.

My '14 is a late '13 build so it's a mixed bag. Does have Girard Awnings. The problem is with the larger front awning. The smaller rear works fine.
No I did not check the old LED strip. You are probably right in that it was OK. I just need to start tracing the wires.

For future reference, a tip I learned for checking LED lights is a 9v battery. You can check real quick if it wiring or polarity, LEDS won't work if the polarity is backwards. Simple pocket tool that saves a few trips up and down the ladder to flip switches.

Yep, knew that trick. The old lights probably had about 10% lit up sporadically, but always the same ones. I figured the strip was bad, being 7+ years old. I just didn't think about testing it since replacements are so cheap.

Online, Amazon. I ordered a 25' strip and cut it to length.

I have a 13 Cornerstone B, has no LED's on the awning, but i want to install them. don't know where the 12 volt power source is. i checked the junction box's on the roof, but looks like the power is only active when you engage the awning motor with the switch.
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
