Replacing Awning Lights

I am looking for some help on the best way to replace the driver side awning lights. The front half went out and Entegra sent me the replacement. I have a 2015 Anthem.

Ask them for instructions. Should be able to quickly email you a set.

Very simple to replace. In the front corner of the awning are a red and a black wire that are connected the LED lights. Cut those on the on the coach side of the connector, you'll need two new connectors. I used spade connectors as I installed a dimmer. Remove the old light from the track, they are peel & stick. Clean the track with alcohol. Connect the new lights to the black and red wires, the peel the backing paper off of tape a foot or two at a time pressing the light into the track as you go.

I used brown silicone to seal both ends to avoid wind flapping. The job is done in about 15 minutes. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/tell...ml#post2176334

The link is just for a few photo examples.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm talking about the driver side Girard fake awning housing. I wish it were on the actual awning, it would have made it much easier.

It should be pretty much the same way, it's only two wires. Have you looked at how they are connected?

A photo might help, LED's are fairly simple.

Because the are not awnings You might have to loosen the girard so the end cap clears so you can remove it. Once removed you can slide out the old and put in the new one. It would be easier if it was the passenger side.

Do 2014s have awning lights on the driver side? I thought all I had on that side was an ineffective security light (ineffective because it's between the slides and doesn't radiate well.

The 2015 added LED lights to the faux awning on the D/S as well as slide lights all the way around.

You are correct on the security light, but adding under slide LED's sure makes up for it. It was nice to have the D/S lit up when you needed it, that was a very handy mod.

Yes, I did, it's a 3 part post in "show us your mods." Here is the link. That was one mod that was used every night. Even new travel trailers have door awning lights now.

It looks harder than it really is.
