Gary, the only way to stop that is to sue manufactures to stop buying parts made in China. Like you I see the RV industry going the opposite direction. With the 02 Travel Supreme, orphaned for 6 years before I sold it...no problem getting parts. Now with new Chinese parts manufactures every model year and no enforcement. it's a money game.

Funny, this sort of thing didn't seem to be such an issue when the lenses were held in by 2 screws and you could replace bulbs. I guess improvements are in the eye of the purchasing agent.
