Return duct mod question

Read how to make the magnet mod for the return duct registers. Bought the magnets two years ago, only now getting around to making the mod. Found the thread about how to do it, no problem.

But I seem to remember a follow-on thread on what type of adhesive holds the magnets on to the register the best. Can't find that post. Anyone know what adhesive works best to hold the magnets on to the plastic register?

This worked for me. I found the best was Weldwood contact cement. Sold in a small brown bottle with the brush on the cap. Rough up the corner of the plastic vent. I used one of the DW's emery boards, it bends to fit. Follow the instruction of the bottle, let them dry over night for a long lasting job.

Easy way to install them, push the vent against the ceiling. The magnet will leave a mark on the padded ceiling, drill the screw hole on the center of the round mark. No measuring or template needed.

I used a 2 part epoxy, Entegra recommendation. I not only roughed up the plastic vent, but also the magnet surface. I do appreciate the new snap in return vents on our '20. At least until they age brittle and begin to break.

The 2 part epoxy I used did not hold up long. Don't remember the brand, whatever Home Depot had when I purchased the magnets. (Elmer's?) As they failed, I used the contact cement I had on board. After I got home, redid all the magnet with the contact cement. They were still holding when I sold the coach.

I used this stuff. Worked great. I did rough up the surfaces like Brobox suggests.

I used JB weld plastic epoxy. It would stick well to the plastic vent but not to the magnet. The magnets are very hard and difficult to rough up to improve adhesion. What I did was to completely enclose the magnet in the epoxy cement to form a capsule. This was very successful in preventing the magnet from coming loose.

I have had good success with marine Goop. Clean the surface, apply a small amount, and use a plastic clamp for a couple of hours. I have not had any come loose.

I used this stuff, roughed up plastic part as suggested. Works great. Did my 2014, and actually have "fixed" most of the vents in my 2017 with it as the glue Entegra used failed over time.

I've used various adhesives as they fall off my 2017.
I'll try the E6000.
I fulltime use we have maybe 1 magnet a month come lose, so not too bad.
