The motor mount is a little loose. Not sure if it's because of the wobbling it was doing or the cage broke because the mounts were loose.

Here's a link to Amazon.com for a replacement: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
~$75 and not too difficult as a DIY.
Here's a link to a video showing how to do it:
That's a pretty disturbing sound, isn't it?
Take care,
Stu

Had a critter crawl into my furnace blower wheel. Was a short ride Didn't blow the wheel apart, just bent it. Yup it shakes like hell till you kill the power.

We carry a spare fan and blower wheel as 2 A/C’s have a hard time in the middle of South GA heat and humidity in the summer. Thankfully had a spare when blower wheel went out on the front A/C.

Looks like a Coleman Mach 8 and I have replaced one twice now. I carry a spare blower wheel. Pretty common problem on these units.

As far off balance as the blower wheel was, I don’t think any FHP motor mount could contain the wheel.
Although no harm in confirming that vibration didn’t loosen the mount or bend or stress the motor mount components/base.

I have three less-than-one year old Coleman Mach 8 AC/HP's and so far one has had the main drum-type blowers disintegrate and a different one's compressor locked up and is being replace next week.
I ordered TWO spare blowers for the parts bin. If Coleman doesn’t want the bad unit back I plan to strip it for parts as well.

I had exactly the same in November within 2 hours of each other, was able to swap the blower wheel from the locked up AC to the other one. I carry 2 spares now.
I emailed Colman about the already replaced AC compressor going bad and they say warranty replacement AC's have no warranty, I complemented them on their ongoing revenue stream plan, if they built a reliable product they would probably go bankrupt.

Two blower wheels replaced. Carry extra fan blade jic.
Such a lousy design to have those wheels supported on one end only.
Easy diy if you can get on your roof.

I would not call it a lousy design. The problem seems to be a poorly designed wheel and/or poor QC. There are lots of similar designs with the over-hung blower and no problems.
As for loose bolts, when I installed the Mach 8 units 2 years ago, i found nearly every bolt in the two units loose from the factory. I let Coleman know about the poor assembly and vibration and never had a response. I tightened the mounting bolts, etc. and stopped the vibration.
