Roof Molding Issue

The rubber strip that is just pressed into the molding keeps coming out and I'm not sure what the fix is, but I need to call Entegra and see what they say.

Anyone else having this issue? New trim would be easy, but getting it painted to match would be a fit.

Yup. Same thing with mine. I just had it fixed at CW a couple of months ago. They pulled the stripping tighter and screwed it back into the coach. Hopefully it will stay put. Other than that the coach has been great!!

If you add clear silicone non sparingly,,, also along with the above process it will never come out again, I would use ge silicone myself.

Its designed to be able to expand and contract in the grooves of the molding, I'm not sure locking it down would be a good idea. I'll look into compressing the molding channel a bit to see if that helps.

Could this roof issue be the same as the one early this year in which Entegra sent inspectors around the country to check all units on dealers lots?

Not sure what they use on Entegra's, but it looks like cheap ole vinyl insert. They sell it in black, and most anywhere has it.

We had the same issue on our 2011 Aspire! Factory fixed it on first visit and it came back out on drive back home. Entegra shop guy just said dab some GE silicone behind it and stick it back in the groove, its just a removable cover for the screw rail for roof. Did as instructed and not an issue since!

GE does make the silicone caulking in brown to match. I found it at Lowe's They also have it in dark brown, but only showed light brown on the web site. I used it here on my molding.

Yeah but.... mine is twice the price so it must be twice as good

I did want the matching color to fill in the cut off piece of molding above the down spout.. I still can't figure why that was ever cut off after it was painted?

I have a similiar issue, and a body shop guy told me to use the same stuff they use to seal a windshield, and wipe up any oozing. I haven't done it, but thought it might work to hold it, then caulk the edge.

Another good idea, that stuff will hold anything. It is messy...do have a thinner rag handy and if you can wear latex gloves. Your hands will thank you.
