Roof sealant

Would anybody know what kind of roof sealer Entegra uses around the vents, fans, awning brackets and more. I went on the roof yesterday and all seals looked fine. The Travelers Satelite dish brackets had been aftermarket installed and whoever did the install skimped on the sealant. The sealant the factory uses appeared to be very thick and solid so that is what I would like to use.

Thanks!

What year? Different sealants were used in different year. The Classic sealant was junk and can expect cracks and leaks in a couple of years. The newer models use a sealant that has been posted as Nuflex 311 on 2016 and newer Much better from the sample I saw at the factory.

Thanks for the reply. It is a 2017 Anthem.
I will look into the Nuflex 311. It looks like good stuff.

According to their website, Nuflex 311 is pure elastomeric silicone. Dicor lap sealant used to be the gold standard for RV roofs so am curious why a silicone product might be a better alternative. If a silicone product was used by the OEM, does that mean you have to completely remove it to 'touch it up?' In my experience, nothing sticks to silicone, even more silicone.

I've had good luck with Dicor and/or Eternabond.

Skimpy on the Trav’ler is actually a good thing.

There is a transition plate that mounts to the roof, and the turret mounts to the Transition plate with a foam seal in between. The foam seal is intended to protect against incidental moisture, not immersion.

In our case, Entegra applied a really heavy bead of Nuflex 311 and created a situation where the seam between the Transition plate and the turret was routinely immersed in water.

As you can imagine, this proved fatal for the turret after numerous hard to trace issues.

In short, the only sealant should be below the lip of the Transition plate, and covering the fasteners. Nothing else is required, or desired.

I hope this helps,

-Matt
