Roof sealant and outside trim sealant?
Does anyone know the brand sealant we are suppose to use for the roof seams? I’m also looking for the type of sealant we are suppose to use for the outside trim pieces. I’m starting to get a roof leak up by the front cap. I would appreciate any advice.

Eternabond Tape for the roof seams. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/star...id-244908.html
If you are getting a leak up front, check the clearance lights for leaking or full of water.

I have no leaks, but after 4 years of UV punishment I see areas on the side moldings that are deteriorating. Looks like silicon-type clear caulk. What is the proper caulk to use?

I think that material is geoseal. I know they quit using it after 2015.(the owner of the paint/body shop that did my 2 yr pdi said he did not know why Entegra ever used that crap) I have used a calk from ace hardware called lexel on previous coaches(and will on this one) it works well....but for op either remove all old roof calk and then use nuco 311 or use eternabond tape over the old calk.

I need to replace about 8' of roof to wall closure trim. So Entegra says to use Heng's 311 RV Selfleveling Lap Sealant. I asked about what they (Entegra) are currently using on 2017 and newer coaches and it was the same answer..
The 311 is a silicone which made me cringe a little. It seems to be performing well on my 2017. Much better than on the previous coach (2013 Cornerstone).
I ordered 8 tubes of the 311 from RVUpgraeds for about $8 per tube. I am planning on purchasing the roof to wall closure from Entegra. I happen to be headed to Middebury in mid September anyway. So I plan to check what they are using on the production line. I will add another post here if I can remember to do so.

Pete in 13, 14, and 15 Entegra used some really bad sealant. The newer 311 is much better.

But you can't use the Eternabond tape on the new sealant correct? The 311 is a silicone sealant.??

I have not checked, but I doubt it on the new 311 silicone based sealant. On the old Classic sealant, it is highly needed.

I plan to tackle roof sealant project on our 15 Anthem in October while wife is in Ireland. The existing sealant is showing cracks everywhere, but only minor leaks now and then mostly in front cap down into the front of the dash and one time in the galley near the microwave. I have a covered storage site so I can take my time and do it right. Should I scrape off the exiting sealant and reapply with the 311 stuff? Or go with Eternabond over existing sealant? I will rebed the awning mounts too.

Personal decision. I used Enternabond as it will outlast any sealant on the market for RV's. I like easy, much easier to put Entenabond over existing, so it was an easy choice for me.

I used the eternabond tape on my roof seams like a lot of people did a few years back. I recently developed a roof leak on the back of the coach. I inspected all the seams and could not find any obvious problems. I decided to remove the eternabond tape and sealant along the back cap. I found the white roofing material was cracked in front of the ladder where you step onto the roof. It was cracked along the edge of the original sealant but under the eternabond tape. The eternabond did not keep it from leaking but also hid it from view. I would have easily seen this before it became a problem if I had not used the tape. I am not sure if my eternabond tape was to blame or if the rough surface of the roofing did not allow it to seal properly, but the crack was fully covered under the tape and should not have leaked. I have had great success with eternabond in the past but something went wrong with it this time.

Pete, will you explain "roof to wall closure" ? Is this a part that is available? Upgrade? Very curious here.
Thanks, GrAndy

The roof to wall closure I was referring to is the radius piece of aluminum that connects/closes the wall off to the roof. I recently collided with the overhang on a building moving very slowly. The overhang hit right below the awning near the front passenger side. Minimal damage thankfully. I have ordered the replacement closure piece from Entegra (through a dealer). The piece comes factory finished to match my coach for less than $50. It will require substantial labor however to remove and replace the part. I plan to do the work myself (for now). I happen to be going to Middlebury for my 2 year AIR in about 2 weeks so I will be able to pick up the part and avoid the freight and crating cost as well.
