a few comments:

as said many times just watch the weather. currently there is no inclement weather in the forecast. though it will drop below freezing at night so watch for ice in the mornings.

shortest route from i-40 to i-10 is to turn south on AZ 77 / AZ 377 at holbrook. follow this to AZ 260 in heber, then AZ 260 west to payson, then AZ 87 south to AZ 202. take it west and it will merge with i-10 in phoenix.

there was a comment about fueling up at the car lanes to avoid commercial tax rates on diesel. arizona does charge two different tax rates on diesel fuel. the commercial rate is $.26/gal and the non-commercial rate is $.18/gal. you are considered non-commercial if all of the following apply:
non-commercial usage
no more the 2 axles
under 26,000 lbs
normally the car lanes have the pumps set for the $.18/gal tax rate and the truck lanes set for the $.26/gal rate. if you do not meet the requirements listed above and fill at a non-commercial pump you are committing tax evasion. if you do meet the requirement you can still fill up at the truck lanes (easier to get into). after you fill up go into the attendant and request a refund of $.08/gal on the number of gallons you pumped from the commercial pump. they will give you a cash refund. also the signs on the highway showing the price for diesel are inconsistent. sometimes they show the commercial rates, sometimes the non-commercial rates. some show two prices for diesel normally labelled heavy (commercial) and light (non-commercial).

Tomorrow morning we will find out if we will make it to the Quartzite gathering and what support, if any, we will receive from Spartan and/or Entegra.

Wish us luck! I’ll follow-up with another thread regarding the radiator saga.
Well dang, sorry to hear that. Please post a link here so we can follow along (it's a big site and finding one thread is hard ).
