RPM high frequency whine through the infotainment system.

I am hearing a engine /transmission rpm whine through the infotainment system. I can hear the transmission shifting which is concerning and annoying.
I don't think it is from the rear camera volume but not sure where there is a volume switch for that.
It sounds like a ignition interference like with a gas engine not having suppressors on the plug wires but this is a diesel so I am wondering is this ground wire issue?
If so which ground wire and where?
Any one familiar with this sound and fix.
Thanks
Dave

Dave, on our system you can tap the screen an tat opens up the controls for the cameras and rear microphone/speaker up front.

I plan to read up on it as our rear microphone is default on almost every time we start the coach.

Hi Dave,
What do your alternator voltages look like underway?? With a load?? Does your voltage drop? Does the noise get worse as you add accessory loads? You could very well have a bad diode in your alternator. Check your positive lead on your alternator and negative lead and make sure they are tight. Batteries good? The last resort would be to safely remove the positive lead from the alternator, tape the end, wire tie out of the way, and drive the coach a short distance or run at high idle. If the noise goes, I would remove the alternator and have a good automotive electrical shop check the alternator. They can check to be sure if it is producing noise.
Just my thoughts, Good Luck.

Also check to make sure the front TV volume is not on, then as Matt said mute the camera

Don't know if you checked this but I thought I had something similar. Check the volume on your rear TV monitor. Mine made similar noises until I completely turned the rear microphone off. I guess the manufacturer thought it'd be used for "go ahead, come on back" kind of things but it's hard to hear anything of that big engine.

All fixed, Jeanne , Chuck thanks. It was the front TV volume when using it for GPS. Turned it down, sound went away.
Thanks All.

Dave, I still haven't found the rear camera volume switch. Touched the screen but nothing came up.
I don't hear anything from back there but the back up warning siren, anyway, but curious.
The manual doesn't state anything about the microphone volume.
