Rubber Slide Seals keep coming off
On both my 2015 Anthem and now my 2019 Cornerstone, I have had exactly the same problem with the rubber slide seals not staying in proper position. Interestingly, it has been exactly the same seal on both coaches and that seal is the front (forward) vertical slide seal. What happens is that the rubber seal comes detached from the fiberglass outer and inner walls, both times at the top. Then as you run the slide in or out, the seal bends inward while the slide comes in, and then pushed back to make a fairly good seal when you move the slide back out.
When I had my Anthem in Middlebury for the 2 year PDI, the way they solved the problem was to use screws and "screw" the seal into place so it could not come loose again. I traded the coach a year later and so don't know how long that approach lasted. On this Cornerstone, I had exactly the same problem in exactly the same place (top) and the rubber seal was doing the same thing. When it was worked on at the 2 year AIR, it appears that my tech simply remounted the seal the same way it was done at the factory (and I have no idea what that really is (sealant, glue, simple friction fit ???? )). Anyhow, although Middlebury fixed it, now about 7 months later, it has come loose again.
I assume I am not the only person with this problem and wondering what other owners have found works to keep the seal in place.

Hi Gary
My 2013 Anthem had that happen a few years back. The factory did not push it all on. We pulled it off then put spray soap on and put it back on. No more issues

Gary,
We had a similar problem soon (Summer 2018) after purchasing the Coach. We had it taken care of at the AIR in December of 2018, they secured the seal with a screw at the corners of the seal, to date it has held up well. I do lubricate the seals every few months while stationary and would think that may help. A new situation that recently cropped up is that the upper horizontal seal on top of the P/S front slide has come loose almost directly in the center of the slide ~ 8' in from the side. The pictures attached were taken while the slide was closed and standing on the passenger seat looking rearward. When the slide is opened the seals slide outward along the top of the slide and look similar to the pictures. We have an appointment at Entegra October 21st to have them repair it. Hopefully they will have an easy fix that will be relatively inexpensive!

That top seal is a real pain to put on. You need 2 ladders and 2 strong guys to do it. Pull it all the way off, soak it in a soap then start at one end and start sliding it on. Took about 30 minutes and since it is now seated correctly we have not had a single issue in 5 years

Some people recommend baby powder to minimize the tendency of the seals to"stick" or "drag while retracting or extending. I've used the seal conditioner made by any number of manufacturers i.e. Camco, 3-in-1, Thetford etc. I also use 303 on occasion to help protect from the sun. I'm sure everyone has their favorite product/s and/or procedures though.

philnail,
I would imagine Entegra has at least 2 ladders and a number of strong guys available... . Hopefully it only takes them 15 minutes and will be billed accordingly, although that remains to be seen. If so, it would be money well spent!

I use baby powder and a feather duster. I use a condiment bottle to squirt the hard to reach places. Four coaches with slides and have never had a seal problem.
