Running ACs inside

We are contemplating a new S&B with RV garage. The garage will have 50amp service and sewer/water.

For those that currently have an RV garage, how bad is the noise running the ACs while inside? Idea it that it will be our overflow guest accommodations.

We have two motor homes stored in our garage, when all the units are running they definitely put out a good bit of noise, but you cannot hear them outside.

We have found just keeping the garage climate controlled year round and humidity levels under control is adequate to keep inside of Motorhome proper.

If you are going to run them and noise is a concern I would suggest a three foot void between the spaces, this would adequately stop the noise.

Is it too loud for someone to sleep in the coach?

I find that while the noise in the garage itself is loud, inside the motorhome is it very quiet due to Entegra's great insulation. A bigger problem for me is that while the coach is very comfortable, the garage gets hot unless the garage door is left open. This could likely be resolved with a good ventilating fan to exhaust hot air from the garage.

I have run one A/C inside the hanger working on the MH, and I didn't think it was loud at all inside of the MH. I will be up there in a day or two and if you like, I can close the hanger doors and turn on an A/C and double check. There is also a storage room as close as a house would be and I can also go in there and check for noise. I can only run one a/c as I am on 20 amp.

I'm not concerned about exterior noise, just inside the coach. Garage doors would be open when it was running. A large exhaust fan will be a handy thing to have, also.

Being able to use the coach for guests will reduce the floor plan of the new house by several hundred square feet!

Thanks for all the quick answers.

We kept our DSDP garaged and used the A/C's with no problem. As others have said, loud outside but not so bad inside.

Vance, my storage hanger has thermostatically controlled vents in the ceiling/roof. They open to let the hot air exhaust without fan motors. I would imagine they are still made and they do work well to exhaust the hot air.
