That's what I have been noticing!

I'm still 15-20 years from retirement and I'm thinking about ownership/rentals in other areas honestly. It really is crazy.

What we don’t like about all the Resorts in Fort Myers is that they are an hour from the beaches! If you stay late afternoon on the beach, 2 hours back.

That is one of the many reasons I bought at Myakka River Motorcoach in Port Charlotte. Port Charlotte has snowbirds, yes, but not jam packed as Fort Myers area - at least doesn't seem to be. And speaking of jam packed ... try going anywhere during the summer months in lower Alabama/Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. Forget it ...!

We looked at all of the above mentioned locations. While we did not currently have an RV we wanted to be ready. While watching You Tube we followed a vlogger named Our Journey In Myles..they are fulltimers who just happened to stay at an RV resort that had sites, pads, casitas and Houses.. The houses have RV ports.. We loved the fact we had a house and an RV parking space. Our RV portal is 58ft long by 24ft wide by 14.6 high. All hookups on both sides to accommodate all vehicles. We have a 2000 sq ft house attached. The location is Mount Olive Shores North... in Polk City Florida... 30 mins Tampa, 1.5 Hours Punta Gorda, then add 30 mins for Ft Myers, Naples etc. We are 40 mins from Disney Parks as well as the others.. 2 miles to I-4 and country roads and scenery to the North. Love it here...its tag line? Luxury Single Family Resort with an RV attitude... The other ticker, my maintenance is $122 per month. Good Luck..

There are plenty of lots that can be fixed to accommodate a RV south of Miami, just inland a few miles .

RiverBend Motorcoach Resort in LaBelle Florida. Far enough away from the crazy snowbird traffic in Fort Myers area, but close enough to be there when you want.
